Alpha is a beautiful red-head with a striking blaze. She ran in the Adena Springs silks and was successful on the track, earning over $336,000. Alpha is sired by the well-known Alphabet Soup, and is currently The Haven's only Canadian-bred mare. She foaled 10 offspring - some by amazing sires, such as Awesome Again, Ghostzapper, Sky Mesa, Birdstone, etc.

Alpha Heat arrived at the Haven in November 2019, and is one of the residents that the Haven was asked to take in by another sanctuary, R.A.C.E. Fund in Pennsylvania, who reached out, asking for help with this mare. If you knew Jeanne and her caring heart, she agreed to make room for Alpha.

Since being at The Haven, Alpha has really changed and is becoming very settled, under the patient hand of Ann Cheek. She has warmed up to having her mane and forelock groomed, and her face touched. Each mare at The Haven has their own quirks and unique personality. Alpha established herself as the guardian of the herd. She can be found on the outside of the herd keeping watch for anything in the distance that may pose a threat to her girlfriends. She has combed the landscape over and over and over, and you know what? Nothing has happened to the herd - so she MUST be doing a fantastic job!
