SLIP, SPLAT, ICK
This morning, 5:10 a.m. as I was feeding the ladies, I learned just how slippery mineral oil in fresh manure can be. Even with the barn lights on, the stalls are rather dark. I walked into the Princess's stall, noted to myself the smell of a fresh pile and just kept right on going. I made it to her feed tub, poured feed and turned to leave sneaking behind her, heading for the door. The next thing I knew my left leg went in one direction and my right in the other. SPLAT, a terrbly "soft" landing…And there I was looking up at a very bewildered Princess. She carefully scooted her hind end away from my and looked at me like I had lost my mind. "Geez, Jeanne, you don't have to roll in it!"
I was COVERED! At least we know the oiling she received yesterday is working!
