The barn is so peaceful tonight. A light snow is falling, each flake visible as it floats to the ground. I couldn't help but think of those flakes being as unique as each of the ladies and of as different as all horses everywhere.
The ladies are snuggled into their warm, thermal blankets. Their stalls clean, fresh water hanging in buckets and hay in the corner. Their feed dishes full but emptying quickly as their noses are deep inside.
Everyone's eyes were so very bright tonight. Eager to be inside, eager to enjoy a hearty meal and ready for a long winter nap.
I left the barn thinking, like I always do, I must be the luckiest person in the whole world. If I died tomorrow, I will go to Heaven knowing I lived every day to the fullest. Life is good.
