Barhopper leaves OMRH
This is a very hard update to write. I never, in my wildest dreams ever expected what has transpired over the last 30 hours.
Yesterday, I received an email from Barhopper’s owner/sponsor telling me Bars was needed at his daughter-in-law’s farm in Indiana as a pasture buddy for an old friend. Bars will also serve as a first riding horse for a 9 year old grandchild.
With less than 30 hours notice, Barhopper was loaded onto a trailer and sent to another career. It wasn’t easy to get the needed paperwork together, my vet and his wife worked wonders.
I am devastated. No horse has ever left here like this.
Barhopper arrived here on April 21, 2005, long before we ever thought we needed a “no return policy” and his owner/sponsor has never failed to pay on time so there was nothing I could do to prevent this move. I wanted SO BADLY for him to stay.
My heart hurts. Loading him on that trailer was one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life. This will NEVER happen again.
